Da Dan

Born in 1986 in Shiyan, Hubei province, Da Dan had her first experience in ceramic art making in 2013, which ignited into a full-fledged passion of hers, founding in 2015 a studio of her own to create charismatic works branded in her own name "Da Dan".

Da Dan believes there is a peculiar connection between the clay and herself, of which linguistic symbols just falls short to yield a satisfying description.

In her own words: "The clay is something alive to me. And each has its own character and temper. When sitting across the clay, one must try to understand and feel it. The process of art making is therefore a process of the artist communicating with this material, and ultimately a trial to test and manifest the bond between the two."
